Welcome To Pooler

Pooler open the 2010-2011 campaign with a home fixture just as last year but this time the visitors to The Park will be Bedwas. Pooler will be hoping for a much better start to the campaign than last season and are hopeful of a winning start on the opening day for the first time since returning to the Premiership. Last season Pooler out scored Bedwas on tries in the away game but still lost 35-31. A much improved Pooler were the victors at home by 44-29. Pooler will be looking for more of the same.

Pooler Head Coach James Chaperon now has a new season to get to grips with coaching in the Premiership. Following his promotion after the departure of Gareth Lintern midway through last season, James now has been able to put together a squad of his choice with a team around him also of his own choice. The time has now come for "Chappy" to make the position his own and lead the club to greater things than the past few season starts have merited.

One of the most valuable assets the club has is the 100 Club. The money raised through this has been vital in paying for things such as player treatment and scans during the season. The 100 Club is currently run by Mike Osmond (pictured above) and if anyone is interested in joining then please see Mike at the Park on match days and he will give full details of how you can join.

Last season's skipper Geraint Morris was due to retire at the end of the last campaign but the lure of yet another season with Pooler became too much for him and "Geckers" decided with a bit of persuasion from the coaching team that he had to carry on. All the Pooler faithful are greatful that this talisman figure has decided to carry on in the famous Pooler shirt and all wish him well for the coming season.
