Tuesday 30th August 2016

PONTYPOOL, South Wales, 30th August 2016 – Pontypool RFC is pleased to announce that MWR Accountants has extended its commercial relationship with the club for the 2016/17 WRU National Championship campaign.

The Pontypool-based accountancy firm will enter its third successive season as a commercial partner of Pontypool RFC and has established itself as an essential local partner of the club.

The MWR Accountants brand will continue to take pride of place next to the Pontypool RFC crest on the club’s iconic red, white and black shirt, as well as featuring prominently in various advertising initiatives over the course of the season.

“We are delighted to renew our sponsorship of Pontypool RFC for the forthcoming season,” said MWR Accountants director, Gavin Watkins. “Despite narrowly missing out on promotion last season, the attitude and commitment of the players and management team has been incredible.

“As a sponsor and supporter, it makes us proud to be associated with the club and we look forward to a successful season.”

Expanding on the on-going relationship between the club and MWR Accountants, Pontypool RFC chief executive officer, Ben Jeffreys, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Gavin and the MWR team will be by our side as the club heads into a season that has the potential to be highly successful for everybody with an affinity to the town of Pontypool.

“Gavin and MWR Accountants have been excellent supporters of our efforts to take Pontypool RFC back to the top flight of Welsh club rugby and it is so important that companies with a local presence go on that journey with us.

“Everybody at the club is determined to repay Gavin’s commitment to Pontypool RFC with success on the field and I am confident that we have all the ingredients in place to achieve that this season.”

Pontypool RFC wishes to express its sincerest thanks to MWR Accountants for its continued support of the club.
