Club Statement: 2021-2022 season

Monday 30th August 2021

Further to last week’s announcement from the Welsh Rugby Union that the 2021-2022 season will not feature promotion or relegation, Pontypool RFC can confirm that the club is committed to competing for the WRU National Championship title next season.

Pontypool RFC is more than a club, it is a family. The club’s management, coaching staff, squad, volunteers and supporters have formed an irreplaceable bond since we started this journey back in 2012. Quite simply, our journey does not end here.

Pontypool RFC made a commitment to everyone who represents and supports this great club that we are determined to take the club back to the WRU Indigo Premiership. Our desire to transform this dream into a reality remains undented by last week’s events.

Our frustration has rapidly turned to motivation. We are ready to go again and moving forward, we will continue to do our talking on the pitch and prove once again why Pontypool RFC is a Premiership club in all but name.

Pontypool RFC’s management wishes to extend its most heartfelt gratitude to the Pooler Army for your unwavering passion and support in recent days, we greatly appreciate it.

The club will now turn its attention to resuming its programme of positive announcements in the coming days. Further details regarding ticketing options for the 2021-2022 season will also follow in due course.

We go again!
