Pontypool Community Council back Pooler with continued support

PONTYPOOL, South Wales, 31st August 2016 – Pontypool RFC is pleased to announce that Pontypool Community Council has pledged its continued commitment to the club for the 2016/17 WRU National Championship season.

Under the guidance of its 21 elected members, Pontypool Community Council holds the responsibility for supporting the many community services and initiatives delivered throughout Pontypool. This includes working with local sporting entities, such as Pontypool RFC.

"Pontypool Community Council take great pleasure in being able to provide support to Pontypool RFC again for the coming season,” said Chair of Pontypool Community Council, Cllr Bryn Parker. “There is no doubt that the rugby team is the heartbeat of the town and the present players, coaches, management and loyal supporters will see the club rise to their rightful place in the Principality Premiership in the future, of that I have no doubt.

“Everybody at Pontypool Community Council wishes the club all the very best for the coming season and we look forward to tracking their progress throughout the year.”

Pontypool RFC chief executive officer, Ben Jeffreys, said: “We are most grateful for the continued generosity of everybody at Pontypool Community Council and it is rewarding to receive the support of a partner with such tremendous local influence.

“It is at the forefront of our objectives to enhance the vibrancy of the town of Pontypool, so to retain the support of a partner which serves the needs of over 35,000 local community members provides a massive boost in enabling us to help take the town forward.”
