Pontypool RFC is pleased to announce Gilbert as the ‘Official Kit Supplier’ of the club for the 2013/2014 season. To celebrate this announcement, Pontypool RFC is proud to unveil the new home shirt that will be worn by the squad next season.

Pontypool RFC and Gilbert has responded to fan requests to re-introduce a traditionally designed shirt that still provides the benefits of modern day production techniques. The 2013/2014 home shirt features Pontypool RFC’s iconic red, white and black hoops, which carries over to the sleeves. Returning sponsors Medinet, Discount Tyres, Frazer White Ltd and Cardiff Sports Orthopaedics will continue to feature prominently on the shirt, as will new partners, Sytner BMW & MINI Newport, Best Western Parkway Hotel & Spa and Rugby Heaven.

“As Gilbert continues to build strong relationships with the Gwent region, we are delighted to have entered this new partnership with Pontypool RFC for the 2013/2014 season,” said James Williams – Wales & South WestArea Sales Manager for Gilbert. “Pontypool RFC is an iconic brand that we are proud to represent and we would like to wish the club the best of luck entering the new season.”

“We are delighted to welcome Gilbert to the Pontypool RFC family,” said Shaun Rees – Team Manager for Pontypool RFC. “In recent years, Gilbert has established itself as a leading developer of quality player and fan merchandise and we certainly feel that this equipment will be of great benefit to the entire squad next season. Gilbert has produced a shirt that fully connects with the heritage of Pontypool RFC and I am sure that this will instil a great sense of pride to everybody who puts on the jersey.”

The 2013/2014 Pontypool RFC kit has been provided through a collaborative effort between Gilbert, Newport Gwent Dragons and Rugby Heaven, that will see the squad benefit from a full range of both on-and-off field clothing and accessories for next season.

John Reid – Commercial Manager for Newport Gwent Dragons said, “We are delighted to be able to show support towards grass roots rugby in our region. Pontypool RFC has produced some great players over the years and we look forward to seeing them produce many more over the 2013/2014 season.”

“We are incredibly thankful to Gilbert, Newport Gwent Dragons and Rugby Heaven for their support as we enter a new chapter at Pontypool RFC,” said Ben Jeffreys – Corporate Director for Pontypool RFC. “Newport Gwent Dragons in particular has recognised that it has a duty to support Welsh club rugby, and in this instance, their generosity along with that of Gilbert and Rugby Heaven has enabled us to distribute the funds that would ordinarily be reserved for kit arrangements on further strengthening our on-field operations. We hope that this moment will act as the catalyst that will see both clubs work in a more mutually-beneficial capacity over time.”

In expanding on the benefits this collaboration will have towards on-field development, Pontypool RFC Head Coach - Mike Hook said, With the links already developed last season between Pontypool RFC and the Newport Gwent Dragons Academy and senior squad, I feel this collaboration will continue to strengthen and support player development and pathways. It is a big step forward for both Pontypool RFC and the region, and we look forward to continuing our working partnership with the Dragons.

The 2013/2014 Pontypool RFC home shirt will be available to purchase towards the start of next season from all Rugby Heaven high-street stores, Rugby Heaven online as well as the soon to be developed Pontypool RFC club shop located in Pontypool Park.
