Club Statement: Ben Jeffreys

Pontypool RFC now feel the time is right to formally respond to the events of the past week.

We wish to make it abundantly clear that the club abides by a zero-tolerance approach to racism in all of its forms.

This should not, however, be mischaracterised as an endorsement of any political organisation or ideology. To suggest otherwise only serves to diminish our focus on ensuring the club remains welcome to all those who demonstrate respect and tolerance for others.

In light of the above, we wish to place on record our full and unequivocal support for our Chief Executive Officer, Ben Jeffreys.

Pontypool RFC has enjoyed exceptional success in recent years and that is largely attributable to the unity that exists between the club and the community we serve.

Our commitment to upholding the right values remains undented by recent events and we are grateful for the incredible support we have received in recent days.

Pontypool RFC will be issuing no further comment on this matter.
