The Club is pleased to announce that all coaches have been retained for the upcoming season with the exception of Shaun Connor.
Shaun, as you will already know, has been appointed as backs coach for the Welsh Women’s National Team.
Shaun has done a fantastic job for Pontypool since his arrival and the Club wishes him all the very best for his future career in this role.
Shaun will always be welcome at Pontypool Park, and we thank him for his services.
Replacing Shaun as backs coach is Nick Wakley.
A former player of Pontypool, Nick played 16 league games in the red, white and black scoring three tries. He made a further appearance in the WRU Cup.
He comes with a vast experience of coaching roles, most recently including Wales 7’s and GB Women’s 7’s. He also led the Dragons to Premiership Rugby 7’s success in 2015.
Nick will support head coach Leighton Jones alongside defence coach Andrew Quick, strength and conditioning coach Gareth Betts and rugby operations manager Lewis Roberts.
Head coach Leighton Jones said: “I’m really looking forward to working with Nick, who will continue the development of the Pontypool back line.”
