Stars of the future feature in curtain raiser

Spectacular sunshine joined hand in hand with spectacular rugby in the curtain raiser games at Pontypool Park on Saturday as Talywain U8s took on their counterparts from Pontypool United.

Two separate thoroughly enjoyable encounters kept the early attendees happy on our newly marked mini pitch.

The M & M Kitchens' Most Committed Players of the Day were Grace Whitcombe of Talywain and Charlie Blake of Pontypool United.

“I would like to thank the little ones and everyone connected with the two clubs as well as Mathew Powell for his sponsorship and Gill Calder-Matthews, Elizabeth Clarke and Gerald Williams for all their help in making it such a special day”," said community outreach co-ordinator Tony Clarke.
