Our opening fixture in the first ever Super Rygbi Cymru competition will see us host recently crowned League & Cup winners, Llandovery on the 14th September.
Our schedule then continues with games against Bridgend (away), RGC (away), RGC (home), Carmarthen Quins (away) before we host local rivals Newport at Pontypool Park on the 19th October. The first block of fixtures is completed with a trip to Swansea (away) before a break of 3 weeks to coincide with the Autumn Nations fixtures.
Upon commencement of the second block of fixtures we host Aberavon on the 23rd November followed by Cardiff (away), Llandovery (away) and Bridgend (home). We’re delighted that the local derby round has been expanded for this season and we have a real treat with back-to-back games against local Gwent rivals, Ebbw Vale, either side of Christmas with Pontypool Park hosting the first game on the 21st December. We then host Carmarthen Quins on the 4th January to complete the second block of Super Rygbi Cymru league fixtures.
This season will see a cup competition introduced with the third block of fixtures taking place on the 25th January, 1st February, 15th February and 1st March with the final then scheduled for the 15th March. We will also look to re-schedule any earlier postponed fixtures around these dates.
The league resumes with a final block of fixtures on the 29th March with a mouth watering trip to Newport followed by Swansea (home), Aberavon (away) before a close to the regular season on the 19th April when we host Cardiff at Pontypool Park.
Play-Offs commence on the 25th April with a Wildcard round which is then followed by Quarter Finals and Semi Finals over subsequent weekends with the Grand Final taking place on the 17th May.
We are hugely excited to be a part of the inaugural Super Rygbi Cymru competition and we can’t wait to share many more fantastic updates with you over the coming weeks
