Pontypool RFC is pleased to confirm that the club’s head coach, Leighton Jones, has today been discharged from hospital and will continue to recover at home over the coming days.
Leighton will not take an active role in coaching duties this week and preparations for the club’s WRU Specsavers National Championship match versus Bedwas RFC will continue to be managed by Tom Hancock (backs coach), Andrew Quick, (defence coach) and Rhys Dyer (head of performance).
Leighton wishes to pass his sincerest thanks for the many messages of support he has received from supporters and friends during this time. He also wishes to thank the staff at the Royal Gwent Hospital for the excellent care he received over the last week.
Further updates on Leighton’s progress will be provided in due course and we look forward to welcoming him back to Pontypool Park soon.
