Pontypool RFC is pleased to announce the signing of Kelvyn Williams from Indigo Premiership outfit Merthyr RFC.
The 30-year-old comes to Pontypool Park to add another layer of steel to the famed Pooler front row. He has always impressed as a tight-head prop when coming up against Pontypool in the past.
He excelled during a six-year stint with Rhydyfelin RFC, which saw him earn a move to WRU Admiral National Championship rivals Bedwas RFC in 2019.
The prop made 12 appearances for the Wass before attracting interest from Merthyr RFC, where he spent last season.
On joining Pooler, Williams expressed his excitement about what lies ahead. He said: “It is a great time to be asked to join Pontypool RFC.
“They are looking to take that Premiership door down this season.
“With such great talent among the lads in the squad it will be a great and exciting season.
“I can’t wait to get started.”
Defence coach Andrew Quick addeid: “We welcome Kelvyn to the club.
“He will add significant strength and grit upfront to our forward pack.
“He brings Premiership experience and I’m sure he will be a great fit for the club.”
