Pooler celebrate end of season in style

Over 160 guests enjoyed Pooler’s Presentation Evening and Club Dinner at The Parkway Hotel and Spa on Saturday 31st May 2014.

Compered by Phil Jones, the evening got underway with the first four presentations – Captain’s Trophy – Luke Dyckhoff, Medinet Man of the Season – Sam Mills, Highest Points Scorer – Clayton Gullis (164), Highest Try Scorer – Luke Dyckhoff (10).

Then there was a showing on the big screen of Pooler in action during this season and in seasons past, followed by the next four awards – Most Promising Player – Josh Hurley, Players’ Player – Jordan Williams , Supporters’ Player of the Year – Clayton Gullis, Special Awards – Dave Aston, Peter Jackson, Linda Collier, Sian Baldwin, Romy Johnson, Denise Emmett, Jane Simons, Sarah Rouf, Barrie Calder-Matthews, Melissa Calder-Matthews and Emily Buckley, 150 appearances – Sam Mills, 50 appearances – Mike Barber, Tom Organ, Matthew Thomasand Luke Dyckhoff.

The guest speaker was former Bath, England and British Lions second row Nigel Redman, The Cardiff-born star gave an entertaining talk, recalling some amusing stories during his playing career and told of the first time he played against Pontypool as a teenager back in the 1980s.

The final two awards of the evening were Player of the Season – Jordan Williams and Clubman of the Season – Ben Jeffreys.
