Pontypool RFC will travel to Bargoed RFC in the quarter-finals of the WRU Championship Cup early next year.
The two sides will meet at Bargoed Park on Saturday 21st January 2023 with a place in the last four at stake.
Pooler managed to see off Narberth RFC 45-24 in the opening round thanks to tries from centre Pat Lewis, full-back Geraint Walsh, scrum-half Dan Babos, centre Joel Mahoney, captain Scott Matthews and a Sam Scarfe brace.
Outside-half Matthew Jarvis kicked 10 points at a blustery Lewis-Lloyd Ground while Bargoed saw off TATA Steel RFC 68-0.
As a result of Pontypool's progression in the cup the WRU Admiral Championship fixture away to Ystalyfera RFC is postponed and will have to be rearranged.
