Squad Departures confirmed

The following players depart the club this summer for pastures new. Lewis Bates, Connor Chapman, Tye Davies, Harry Drane, Matthew Flanagan, Jack Gillard, Owain Leonard, Matthew Powell & Adam Stratton.

Lewis leaves having made 2 appearances in Pooler colours this year along with Connor having made 16 whilst scoring 2 tries. Tye (10 appearances) will focus on Hartpury this year whilst Harry moves on to pastures new after making 17 appearances this term. Matthew Flanagan finished earlier this season after making 19 appearances whilst Jack Gillard, who suffered some cruelly timed injuries, moves on after 7 appearances.

Mathew, Adam & Owain are departing having served the club with distinction. Mathew scored 19 tries across his 46 appearances in the Pooler jersey and has been an integral part of the players social and leadership group. Stratts scored 19 tries across his 73 appearances and has always stood up to be counted when asked. Owain moves on having made 69 appearances in the jersey scoring 11 tries. Owain signed for the club back in the summer of 2019 and he’s had a fantastic impact on the club ever since.

We thank each and every one of them for their commitment to Pontypool RFC and we wish them the very best for the future.

We’d also like to wish Lucy Cummings and Steffan Evans from our medical team the very best for the future as they both move on to new challenges. Lucy wishes to spend more time with her beautiful family whilst Steffan is returning to playing the game – Thank you both for your hard work.
