Ioan Evans & Lloyd Riley sign for 25/26

Ioan joins having spent last season at Pontypridd with prior spells at Cornish Pirates and Cardiff Rugby.

On joining Ioan, who usually plays at centre, said ‘I’m looking forward to joining up with Pooler next season. From the outside it seems they’ve got a good group of boys and I can’t wait to get involved and playing back at the highest level of semi professional rugby in Wales.

Rhys Dyer added ‘Ioan is a skilful and confident player who’s played at high levels previously with Ponty, Cardiff & in Cornwall. His left foot is a real asset and will give our backline another dimension to help our half-backs. He’s got excellent distribution skills and can run the ball well, a real triple threat player.

Lloyd Riley

Lloyd has also represented Pontypridd this season and came through at Rhydyfelin. He’s a tough back row player who can also feature at lock.

Lloyd said ‘I’m looking forward to joining Pontypool with the rich history the club has. There’s a lot of talent in the squad and it’s something I’m proud and excited to be a part of. Playing in the SRC is a challenge that I can’t wait to get stuck into and hopefully I’ll bring a lot to the squad as we aim for silverware’

Scotty was asked about Lloyd and said ‘he’s tall and athletic and at 6’4 will add height and balance to our back row options. We’re really excited by Lloyd and look forward to seeing him carrying ball in the wider channels.
