For their final match of a very successful season, newly-crowned WRU National Championship champions Pontypool will pay their first-ever visit to the Recreation Ground on Saturday to take on Bedlinog, kick-off 2.30pm.
Bedlinog, known as the Foxes, are a relatively young club, having been formed in 1971 so reach the National Championship and survive their first season in this very competitive division is some achievement.
When Bedlinog visited Pontypool Park on 22 October in the first match between the two clubs, Pooler edged a very tight game 13-10, with no more than four points separating the sides at any point. The match was a good advert for Championship rugby.
On Saturday, both club captain and hooker Ben Parry and flanker Jordan Williams will be making their 100th appearance (in league and cup matches) for the club. Congratulations both.
