Pontypool travel to Beddau knowing they have already secured their main aim of the season – earning promotion to the Premiership.
The club have strived for 10 years to make it back to the Premiership following their demotion a decade ago and that dream was finally realised over the weekend.
However, there is still plenty to play for in the final games of the season with the league title still yet to be secured and an unbeaten run to maintain.
Scrum-half Owain Leonard insists the attitude has not shifted within the dressing room despite a top-two finish guaranteed with the boys firmly focused on the games ahead.
“It hasn’t changed at all,” he explained.
“We take every game as it comes week in week out as we’ve done throughout the season and Wednesday is no change.
“They put up a good fight against us last week, we appreciate them coming down, all credit to them so I think Wednesday is going to be a tough game.
“I don’t think conditions are going to be good for us but hopefully we can play some rugby and finish the season strong.
“It's very strange but it’s not the first time we’ve played someone back-to-back, we did it with TATA Steel a couple of weeks ago.
“Quite early on in the season we set some targets for ourselves.
“Two out of three have come true so we’re looking to be unbeaten at the end of the season.”
With the games coming thick and fast the coaches have opted to make nine changes for the trip to Mount Pleasant Park.
Leonard believes the coaches have done well to share the minutes around the squad to ensure the players remain fit and fresh for the run-in.
“The weather hasn’t been kind to us through the winter so we are now catching up on the games,” he continued.
“It’s a challenge for the coaches, I think they’ve done a really good job at sharing the work load.
“It’s a hard challenge for them to navigate the last couple of games, we’ve got a lot of them coming but as a team we’re focused on getting that unbeaten record.”
Tom Piper, who recently announced his retirement, comes into the front row with Alex Grey, on permit from Newport, starting at lock.
There is a completely new back row, which consists of captain Scott Matthews, Callum Davies and Ieuan Jones.
Leonard and Geraint Walsh are also recalled alongside a centre partnership of Dai Langdon and Deon Smith.
