Pontypool RFC can confirm that eight players will depart the club this summer following the end of the 2022/23 WRU Admiral National Championship season.

Front row duo Tom Piper and Darren Hughes are hanging up their boots while fellow hooker Aneurin Jenkins is also departing.

Dai Langdon, Cameron Regan, Dan Babos, Geraint Walsh and Connor Lewis will also leave the club this summer.

Hughes made 44 appearances for Pooler over four seasons scoring 16 tries and helping the club to two unbeaten Championship titles.

Piper and Jenkins both joined up with the club last summer making 18 and eight appearances respectively. The latter also contributed with two tries.

Langdon has cemented his place in Pooler folklore with that last-gasp drop goal against Ystrad Rhondda that preserved the unbeaten streak this season. He departs Pontypool Park with 22 appearances, eight tries, 15 conversions and one very special drop goal.

Walsh leaves as a member of the 50-club and also a contributor in two unbeaten league seasons. The full back crossed over seven times during his four seasons with the club.

Regan spent the last two seasons in red, white and black featuring on 19 occasions all across the back row and chipped in with three tries.

Scrum-half Dab Babos had a knack for being in the right place at the right time as he bagged five tries across his 11 appearances this season.

Connor Lewis is the last member who will be moving on during the summer. The back row made his sole appearance in the cup victory over Narberth in October.

All leave the club after helping to secure one of the best seasons in the club's history with an unbeaten season that consisted of the WRU Admiral National Championship league title, the WRU Championship Cup and promotion to the Indigo Premiership.

Everybody at Pontypool RFC would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to each player for their contributions to the club and wishes them all the best in their future endeavours.
