Tom Hancock departs

Pontypool RFC can confirm it has parted ways with Tom Hancock, who’s stepped down as Head Coach following discussions with owner Peter Jeffreys.

Jeffreys said ‘We’d like to thank Tom for his contribution over the last 2 years as Head Coach. He’s fully bought into the ethos of Super Rygbi Cymru with a number of players moving onto the next level in their careers. We’ll still be working closely with Tom in his role at the Dragons academy and he’ll always be welcome at the club’

Hancock explained ‘With a young family, the distance of travel and my full time coaching roles taking priority it’s the right move for me now to achieve a better balance to life. I’ve put so much love and effort into this club but disappointingly it’s just not turned into results and our performances have been way short of acceptable’

He added ‘Peter has been absolutely brilliant in his support of me throughout my time at the club and I look forward to coming up the Park soon to support the boys,

We’ll shortly be making an announcement of our new Head Coach
