Leighton Jones believes the club might benefit from the current break with players set to return from injury in the coming weeks.
The management group has had to deal with injuries, international call-ups and region selections over the last couple of months and that has coincided with a drop off in form.
Pooler started the season with a bang winning seven of their first eight league games but have only managed two victories in the following eight-game run.
However, a three-week break between fixtures has given those in the treatment room that extra time to recover from their injuries to bolster the matchday squad.
“It's a double-edged sword,” explained head coach Jones.
“Sometimes you have a break and it does you good and sometimes you want to keep playing.
“We had a break after the winning streak we had and it didn’t serve us good but hopefully this break, with some boys coming back and fresh boys coming in, it will be more competitive in training and we can do certain things differently.
“You’ve only got to look at our team, we’ve picked up a lot of injuries in key areas.
“It’s not just been one player out, it’s been two, three, four, five in certain positions and that has hurt us and it has affected how we’ve had to play and manage games and situations.
“We’ve got a couple of players coming back, we can look to go back to where we were at the start of the season.
“We look to play rugby and mix it up with our forward strength and wider play.
“Hopefully, we can the numbers back to training and get the competition back for places and push on.”
