Plenty of work has been taking place off the pitch throughout the season.
Firstly, you’ll have noticed new floodlights have been installed at Pontypool Park. The new LED bulbs provide greater strength lighting whilst running far more efficiently from a maintenance & energy cost perspective. This project would not have been possible without grant funding from the Welsh Rugby Union and we’re extremely grateful to them for this.
The official supporters club continues to grow following its launch in the summer. 371 of you have joined the club with the latest financial update outlining that funds of £5,525 have been raised so far which will be donated to Pontypool RFC. In addition, funds have already been approved and released for the coaches to purchase a new tv for analysis purposes along with paint & materials for ground maintenance.
Funds have been raised through a variety of initiatives so there’s plenty of ways you can get involved in addition to the annual membership subscription. A monthly lottery is running and discounted bus travel is available for members to away fixtures. 2026 calendars were produced and a number of exclusive events are in the pipeline which are available for supporters club members to attend with Friday 23rd January seeing the first at The Comrades, with Nigel Meek hosting Goff Davies & David Bishop. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the supporters club.
We’d also like to thank Nick Richardson from Jumbo of Newport. Nick has driven the team to away games for nearly a decade on his bus which was adorned with the club crest. He's decided to take a well earned retirement and we'd like thank Nick for his service over the years.
