We're delighted to confirm that Evan Lloyd has signed for the 2026/27 Super Cymru Rygbi season.

Evan joins from Ebbw Vale where he was a key component for them in both of their incredibly successful SRC campaigns - In total he featured for them on 115 occasions and amassed 900 points. Prior to that he'd signed a pro deal for the Dragons and was a product of Blackwood RFC through their mini & junior section. Evan also received international honours having featured at U18, U19 & U20 level.

Evan brings outstanding leadership and game management qualities and will ensure fierce competition not only for the 10 jersey next season, but across the whole back division.

Head Coach Tom Hancock said 'Evan is an exciting signing who will add genuine quality to what we believe looks like a very dangerous back division. His kicking game is long and accurate and his on field leadership and game plan delivery have been huge assets for Ebbw Vale, and we'll now look for him to replicate that in the red, white & black jersey. His arrival will create competition and add depth and experience in our squad. I'm excited to work with him and help him continue to improve as a player'

On joining, Evan said 'I’d first of all like to say I’m very grateful to the coaches, chairman and everyone at Ebbw Vale for the support and opportunities I’ve had during my time at the club. I’ve enjoyed being part of such a proud club and feel this is the right time for me to take on a new challenge by leaving one Gwent giant and joining another'

He went on 'The legacy and history of Pontypool has always stood out for me when I was growing up, through the likes of Former Pooler player Mark Ring teaching me how to drop kick a ball and my brother representing the club on more than 50 occasions. This makes the opportunity to now represent Pooler even more special to me. I’m excited about joining a club with such ambition, high standards and expectations for success, and I want to play my part in helping drive that journey forward. I understand the pride and expectations that come with representing Pooler and I’m determined to give everything I have for the badge and the supporters. I’m looking forward to working hard, learning from the coaches and players around me, and doing everything can to help the club compete for honours and trophies'

Welcome Evan
