On Saturday. it will be second hosting first as Tata Steel welcome Pontypool to Margam Sports Ground in the game of the day in the WRU National Championship.
Last Saturday Pooler overwhelmed Dunvant 69-17 at Pontypool Park to go a point clear at the top of the table while Tata Steel squeezed past newcomers Skewen 17-12 at home. Last season Pontypool did the double over The Saints with a 50-14 win at home in December followed by a 39-24 success at Margam in April.
The previous scores have been Tata 41 Pooler 20 and Pooler 15 Tata 14 in 2012-13 season. The following season it was Pooler 29 Tata 8 and Tata 5 Pooler 38. Two seasons ago the matches finished Pooler 36 Tata 34 and Tata 41 Pooler 17. Therefore, over the last 4 seasons, there has been an average of just over 53 points scored per game, so the clash on Saturday promises to be an enthralling contest.
