After Pontypool’s successful WRU National Cup run came to an end at Pandy Park last Saturday, it is back to league action on Saturday when they welcome Newcastle Emlyn to Pontypool Park for a WRU National Championship game, looking for an eighteenth straight league win.
With five matches remaining, Pooler hold a 16-point lead over second-placed Tata Steel with Narberth a further point behind in third. Newcastle Emlyn currently occupy sixth position in the league table with seven wins and a draw from seventeen matches played and 38 league points.
Back at the end of October, Pontypool travelled to west Wales and the picturesque Dol Wiber ground, and came away with a 23-18 victory in a keenly contested and close match.
