Pontypool welcome the students of Cardiff Metropolitan University to Pontypool Park for a WRU National Championship match on Saturday, kick-off 2.30pm.
Pooler are the league leaders with eight wins out of eight and 38 league points out of a possible 40, while Cardiff Met are in eighth place with three wins from their seven matches played and 14 league points.
Last Saturday Pontypool gained an important win, 20-18 in a close encounter at Margam Sports Ground against Tata Steel which was played in Storm Brian – extremely strong wind and driving rain made playing conditions very difficult.
Cardiff Met’s scheduled home game against Bedlinog was a victim of the inclement weather.
Last season Pontypool overwhelmed the students in the league game at Pontypool Park, winning 68-5 in November but the students got revenge as they deservedly won the return match at Cyncoed in March by 30 points to 22, inflicting on Pooler their only league defeat of the season.
Please note that the five replacements will be announced later.
