On Saturday, Pontypool make the long journey to the lovely surroundings of Dol Wiber to take on Newcastle Emlyn in the WRU National Championship, kick-off 2.30pm.
Pooler are currently 15 league points ahead of their nearest rivals, Narberth, at the top of the league table with a perfect 9 wins from 9 matches and a total of 43 league points out of a possible 45. Newcastle Emlyn occupy ninth position with 3 wins and 5 defeats from their 8 games played and 14 league points.
Pooler have won the previous four encounters between the two clubs. On their first visit to Dol Wiber on 17 October 2015, Pontypool came away with a 40-19 victory and won 27-13 in the return match at Pontypool Park on 30 January 2016. Last season Pooler narrowly won a very close and tough game at Newcastle Emlyn by 23 points to 18 on 29 October 2016 but were comfortable 53-5 winners at Pontypool Park on 11 March 2017.
