Pontypool welcome Tata Steel to Pontypool Park on Saturday for their penultimate home match in this season’s WRU National Championship, as first host second in a mouth-watering top-of-the-table clash.
This will be the third meeting of the two clubs this season. On 21 October 2017 Pooler visited Margam Sports Ground and came away with a very narrow 20-18 verdict. The match was dictated by Storm Brian - an extremely strong wind and driving rain which made it exceptionally difficult for both sides.
The second meeting was at Pontypool Park on 6 January 2018 in the first round of the WRU National Cup when Pooler prevailed 55-14.
Pontypool lead the table winning all 15 games played and have only dropped two points all season. Tata Steel are 17 points behind Pooler with 11 wins from 17 matches played and 56 points.
