Pontypool welcome Cardiff Met RFC to Pontypool Park on Saturday, in what is set to be a fiercely competitive top-of-the-table clash.
Pooler, who currently enjoy a six-point lead and game in hand over the students at the top of the table, come into the game off the back of a narrow 29-24 victory away to Trebanos RFC. After winning their opening eight league fixtures, the students will arrive at Pontypool Park having lost their last two encounters and eager to return to winning ways.
The game will see Leighton Jones take charge of his 60th game for Pooler, with the head coach currently enjoying a 95% winning record across league and cup since his appointment in the summer of 2016.
Cardiff Met are the only side to have beaten Pooler in the league during Jones' time in charge. A 30-22 defeat in Cyncoed in 2017 the only defeat Jones' men fell to in the league that season. Last season saw Pooler record two victories over the students, with the away encounter in March seeing the club seal the WRU National Championship title after a 54-10 victory.
