Pontypool, without a game for a month, make the long trip west on Saturday when they take on Narberth at the Lewis Lloyd Ground.
The last game Pontypool played was on the Saturday before Christmas when they defeated near neighbours Newbridge 52-0 at the Welfare Ground. The following week there was no game planned. The WRU Cup game at home to Neath was due to be played on Saturday 5 January but Pooler had a walkover as Neath were unable to raise a team. Last Saturday’s home fixture with Rhydyfelin was postponed some time ago.
Earlier this season Narberth found Pontypool on top form when they visited Pontypool Park in October as Pooler romped to a 55-8 win, scoring eight tries to The Otters’ one.
Narberth currently occupy 4th place and have won 11 of their 13 matches with 49 league points. They are 1 point behind 3rd placed Ystrad Rhondda with 2 games in hand and 4 points adrift of 2nd placed Cardiff Met with 3 games in hand. Table-topping Pooler have won all 13 matches played with 64 out of a possible 65 league points.
