After narrowly going out of the Specsavers WRU national Cup at the hands of Premiership high-flyers Carmarthen Quins last Saturday, Pontypool return to league action on Friday evening when they welcome Bedwas to Pontypool Park in a match which was scheduled for 9 November but both clubs were in Cup action that day.
Top plays third in a mouth-watering top-of-the-table clash in the Specsavers WRU National Championship with Pontypool, having only dropped one point in 15 matches, six league points clear of second-placed Bargoed. Both these clubs have played the same number of matches.
Meanwhile Bedwas have won 11 of their 13 matches played and have 54 league points, some 14 points behind Bargoed, with two games in hand.
This is a massive game for both clubs in their quest for Premiership rugby next season.
Craig Price will make his 50th league and WRU Cup appearance for Pontypool.
