Pontypool welcome Maesteg Harlequins to Pontypool Park on Saturday for a Specsavers WRU National Championship game. The first time the clubs met was in the Championship last season with Pooler winning both encounters – 39-13 at Pontypool at the end of October and 19-9 in a very close game at South Parade Playing Fields at the beginning of March.
The Llynfi Valley side are currently in 6th position in the league table with 5 wins from their 8 matches played and have 20 league points. However, Pooler have a maximum 40 league points from their 8 games – all bonus-point wins – and are 3 points clear of second-placed Bargoed.
