On Saturday, Pontypool will make the short journey to Pandy Park to take on traditional rivals Cross Keys in mouth-watering local derby, in the Specsavers WRU National Championship kick-off 2.30pm.
After the impressive victory over Bargoed a couple of weeks ago, Pontypool now have 11 wins from 11 games played and 54 league points – 11 points ahead of nearest rivals Bedwas (won 9 out of 9) and Bargoed (won 8, drawn 1 and lost 1 from 10 matches played). Bedwas visit Bargoed on Saturday.
Cross Keys have struggled somewhat this campaign after being relegated from the Premiership at the end of last season. They have won 3 of their 9 games played, have 16 league points and are currently in 10th place in the league table.
