Pontypool welcome Ystalyfera to Pontypool Park on Saturday in the Specsavers WRU National Championship, when scrum half Aaron Quick will make his 150th league and cup appearance for Pooler.
The two clubs have only met twice before.
The first was on 19 November 1977 when the upper Swansea Valley side visited Pontypool Park for a first round tie in the WRU Cup. Unfortunately for Ystalyfera, Pooler clicked that day and scored no fewer than seventeen tries in a 86-6 victory.
The second meeting was earlier this season when Pontypool visited Ynysydarren Park in September and came away with a hard-earned 38-15 win after the home side made it very difficult for their visitors.
With only one point dropped out of a possible 65 and 13 straight victories, Pontypool are currently eleven points ahead of second-placed Bargoed in the league table but the Rhymney Valley club has a game in hand. Having gained promotion to the National Championship at the end of last season, Ystalyfera have found it tough going this campaign and are in 13th place with only two wins from 13 games and have 13 league points.
