On Saturday, Pontypool travel the short distance to the Welfare Ground to take on traditional and local rivals, Newbridge, in the SWALEC Championship.
Newbridge won both their league matches to date – 23-17 at home to RGC 1404 and a good 19-13 away success at Cyncoed against Cardiff Met. Pontypool, however, made a great start with a first win at Narberth 26-18 but fell to Swansea at home last time out 16-32 so will be looking to get things back on track with a good performance against their near neighbours.
Last season Pooler did the double with a narrow 29-26 verdict at Pontypool Park in December and won 18-10 at Newbridge on Easter Saturday.
