Pontypool RFC reached a major milestone of implementing its digital communications strategy this afternoon as the club unveiled a new, state of the art website that places the supporter at the forefront of the user experience.

By utilising market research to gain extensive supporter feedback, Pooler set to create a digital hub that delivers interactive squad profiles, match results, league progress and statistics, to enable users to seamlessly track Pooler’s quest to return to the WRU Principality Premiership division.

Pooler currently sit in 3rd position of the WRU SSE SWALEC Championship and occupy one of four promotion places available to the top tier of Welsh club rugby next season, having been granted an A Licence by the WRU in December of last year.

“Launching the new online home of Pontypool RFC is symbolic of the exceptional progress the club has made, both on and off the field, over the previous twelve months,” said Pontypool RFC Chief Executive Officer, Ben Jeffreys.

“There is tremendous synergy between the Pooler’s rugby operation and corporate structure, thus it is vitally important that we continue to deliver new and exciting ways for Pooler supporters to remain engaged with the club as we embark on this exciting journey into the future of Welsh club rugby.

“Combining the new website with our existing digital activity demonstrates our commitment to enhancing the user experience for longstanding Pooler supporters, whilst endeavoring to attract a new generation of club rugby supporter in the process.”

Dan Sargent, Creative Director of Blue Stag, the digital agency appointed by Pooler to produce the new website, expressed delight with how the digital hub reflects the club’s proactive approach to enhancing supporter engagement.

“A key objective was to provide Pooler supporters with greater variety in how they engage with the club’s wider community and to enable them to share and discuss the stories that matter most to them,” he said.

“The passion and appreciation that supporters have for the history of Pontypool RFC is enormous. The club is very much a way of life for many and it has brought families and friends together for generations.

“The new website will serve as an extension to that community spirit and enable supporters to keep those interactions active, seven days a week. It is something we are massively proud to have delivered to the club and its supporters.”
