For the first time in fifteen seasons Pontypool welcome Dunvant to Pontypool Park for a WRU National Championship match.
The last time Dunvant were at The Park was on 20 October 2001 when Pontypool won 28-17. Pooler did the double that season when they cruised to a 60-15 victory at Broadacre on 9 February 2002.
This season, Pontypool have started well with 4 wins out of 4 and 19 league points out of a possible 20 and, along with Tata Steel, sit at the top of the Championship with Tata in first place by virtue of a better for/against ratio, as both clubs have the same number of league points, same number of wins, and same number of tries.
Dunvant, who were Division One West Champions last season, have made a mixed start with one win from their first 4 outings and are in 9th position.
