Pontypool make the journey to The Wern on Tuesday to take on last season’s Premiership champions Merthyr in the eagerly awaited quarter final of the WRU National Cup, kick-off 7.15pm.
The original fixture was postponed on Saturday 3 March due to snow.
Merthyr beat Newcastle Emlyn at Dol Wiber 59-0 in the first round and defeated Cardiff 37-12 at Cardiff Arms Park in round 2.
Meanwhile Pooler beat Tata Steel at Pontypool Park 55-14 in round 1 and gained a superb 23-8 victory over Premiership outfit Carmarthen Quins, also at Pontypool Park in the second round.
The Ironmen and Pooler last met in the 2015-16 season with Pontypool taking the spoils 20-13 at The Wern on 3 October 2015 while Merthyr gained revenge in the return match at Pontypool Park as they overcame the home side 33-13 on 18 March 2016.
