Pontypool take a break from league action on Saturday when they welcome Premiership outfit Bedwas to Pontypool Park for a first round tie in the SWALEC Cup.
The clubs have met on three previous occasions in this competition, with Bedwas leading 2 victories to one – Pooler triumphed 33-10 at Pontypool Park in the first meeting in November 1986; Bedwas gained revenge with a 16-11 success at Pontypool Park in January 2007; Bedwas won by the convincing score of 46-10 in last season’s re-arranged clash at the Bridge Field in February 2015.
