Pontypool RFC icon, Terry 'Tiger' Simons, passes away

Thursday 11th October 2018

It with immense sadness that Pontypool RFC today announces the passing of the club’s legendary kit-man, Terry ‘Tiger’ Simons, after a lengthy period of illness.

Tiger attended his first Pontypool RFC match at the age of ten and went on to devote over 70 years of service to the club.

He will be remembered most fondly for his unwavering commitment to ensuring Pooler’s iconic red, white and black hooped jerseys remained in pristine condition for over half a century.

Tiger’s dedication embodied everything that makes Pontypool RFC such a special club and his contributions have undoubtedly cemented his place as a true legend of Pontypool rugby.

Our thoughts are very much with Tiger’s wife, Jane, his family and many friends during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you for everything, Tiger. You have left a truly outstanding legacy and will be greatly missed by us all.
